About Bed Bug Killers

BedbugKillers.co.uk is an independent guide to bed bug treatment methods. Here is who writes it, how we check it and what happens when you send us an enquiry.

Who runs this guide

BedbugKillers.co.uk is written and reviewed by the BedbugKillers.co.uk editorial team, who publish as Bed Bug Killers Editorial. We are not a pest control company, so we do not treat homes ourselves. Instead, our job is to explain each method in plain words, with its limits, so you can make a better choice.

We write for people who live with the problem, not for the trade. That is why each guide starts with the point, uses short steps and says where a method falls short. When the evidence is thin, we say so rather than fill the gap.

What the site covers

The guides compare treatment methods side by side. For example, you can read how heat treatment works, where steam treatment helps and what an insecticide label tells you. Other guides cover dusts, DIY limits, resistance and aftercare.

Our practical blog then takes one question at a time. Each post links back to the method guides, so you can check the detail before you act. Both follow the same rules on sources.

Editorial independence

No company pays to appear in our comparisons, and no method pays for a better position. Page order is an editorial choice, not a ranking. We also do not name or rate branded products, because a brand name is not evidence.

If you send an enquiry through our contact page, we pass it to a pest control professional who covers your area. However, enquiries never change how we describe or compare a method. The guides would say the same thing if the form did not exist.

How we source and review pages

Every fact on the site comes from a source you can open yourself. In particular, we use the NHS, the Health and Safety Executive, GOV.UK and published research. If we cannot find a good source for a claim, we leave the claim out.

Each guide ends with its sources, and each page shows the date it was last reviewed. We change that date only when the content changes, so it stays honest. Our methodology sets out the seven questions we ask of every method and how we rank evidence.
