What happens after you send it

First, we pass your details to a vetted pest control professional who covers your area. They then contact you on the phone number or email you give us. We do not visit homes or treat bed bugs ourselves, so the professional is the one who inspects, quotes and does the work.

There is no charge for sending an enquiry. Any price for an inspection or a treatment comes from the professional, so ask them to explain it before you agree to anything. You can also ask your local council what help it offers, because some councils run their own pest service.

What to put in your message

A short, clear note helps the professional plan the first visit. For example, say which rooms are affected, what you have seen and when you first noticed it. Keep any photos, since they may help later.

Also tell them if you have already tried a spray, a dust or a steamer. These can change what an inspector finds, so it is better to mention them up front. In particular, add the best times to reach you.

  • Which rooms or pieces of furniture are affected
  • What you have seen, such as live bugs, cast skins or small dark spots on bedding
  • When you first noticed the problem
  • Any treatment you have tried so far
  • The best days and times to contact you

While you wait for a reply

Try not to move furniture or bags between rooms before the inspection, because that can carry bugs to new places. Also hold off on new sprays, since they can make the bugs harder to find. Our guide to preparing a room for treatment explains what to do instead.

It also helps to know your options before the call, while you wait. The treatment method comparison sets out what heat, steam and insecticides can each reach. So you can ask the professional clear questions about their plan and how they will check the result.

How we handle your details

We use your details only to pass your enquiry on and to keep a record of it. Our privacy notice explains what we keep, who sees it and your rights. Sending an enquiry never changes how we compare treatment methods, as our about page sets out.
